  1. HOW TO UNINSTALL
  2.  
  3. Do NOT simply remove the "XL-Plot" directory from your
  4. hard drive as it will leave lots of bits and loose ends
  5. in the registry and the windows directory.
  6. Instead, go to the "configuration panel" and double-click
  7. on "Add/Remove applications". In the list that shows up,
  8. select "XL-Plot" and click "Add/Remove".

  10. INSTALLATION
  11. If you have already a previous version of XL-Plot 
  12. installed on your computer, uninstall the old version first.
  13.  
  14. Double-click on "setup.exe". The installer doesn't ask
  15. too many questions. In case of doubt, push the "OK" button.
  16.  
  17. 1) PURPOSE                         
  18. The primary purpose of XL-Plot is to create a figure for
  19. scientific publication rapidly. It contains a few basic
  20. statistical functions, such as Students t-test and linear
  21. correlation of two sets of data (two columns in a
  22. spreadsheet). XL-Plot has a number of build-in functions
  23. that can be fitted to the data in columns on a spreadsheet
  24. or to a curve in a graph. The user can easily add fitting
  25. functions of his own design. Additional options are
  26. convolution, Fourier Transformation and Matrix inversion.
  27. The latter can be useful to solve a set of linear equations
  28. simultaneously.

  30. XL-Plot accepts tab-delimited ASCII (*.txt files) and it
  31. outputs a vector drawing.

  33. The program is build around two types of window both
  34. having their own menu and preference settings:
  35. * Windows showing vector drawings (drawing sheets).
  36. * Windows showing columns of numerical data (spreadsheets).
  37.  
  38. Items in the two types of window may communicate such that
  39. a modification in a column in a spreadsheet results in a
  40. change in the associated graph.
  41. By using copy and paste functions from the menu, data may
  42. be copied to a spreadsheet or to a drawing sheet resulting
  43. in a column of numbers or a graph respectively.

  46. but not modified in any way.
